I’ve been eagerly waiting for the new 21 Day Fix to be released (3 days and counting!!!). RECIPE} Healthy Chocolate Peanut Butter Ice Cream

I know, I know. It's an oxymoron to have healthy, chocolate and ice cream all in the same sentence… But I swear to you, that is exactly what this recipe is, at least in comparison to any other ice cream you'll eat! This stuff is packed with over 70 vitamins, 30 super foods and only made with 4 ingredients! I know you don't believe it, so I'll just lay it out for you and share the recipe.

Healthy Chocolate Peanut Butter Ice Cream




Ingredients:
Serves 5

2 medium bananas, sliced and frozen
1 C Almond Milk
2 Tbsp All Natural Creamy Peanut Butter
2 Scoops of Chocolate Shakeology

Peel, slice and free the banana's for about an hour. 

Once frozen, place all ingredients into blender and blend on lowest setting for about 5 seconds. Then turn to the highest setting and let blend for about 30 seconds. 

Pour mixture into freezer safe container and place in the freezer for four hours. 

Serve and Enjoy!

Weight Loss Transformation - The Beginning

I started my journey just about two years ago. I then got pregnant and felt like I was on a hiatus for nearly 10 months while pregnant. Don't get me wrong, I worked out and ate healthy throughout my pregnancy, but it's difficult to FEEL like progress is being made when every time you go to button your pants, it becomes a bit more of a workout in itself. 

Then because my son was breach,  I had to have a c-section, putting my workout schedule on hold for nearly three months, due to minor complications. Then came breastfeeding… Again, I worked out and ate healthy, but my body only seemed to want to let go of so much during this phase.

So I was attempting to lose the weight on my own, I was slightly successful, but realized I could do more. So I went to the gym and hired a personal trainer. Again, it was working… but for the money i was spending, I wasn't sure it was everything it was cracked up to be!

Here is where Beachbody, shakeology  and Coaching entered my life… 

This is when my whole life changed and turned around. This past summer I hit a MAJOR mile stone in my life. I hit the 100 pound mark for weight lost! I decided at that point, it was time for me to share my transformation through a video… but I was NOT ready! 

After months of thinking about it, I finally decided it was time. So, I present to you… MY STORY through pictures and video :)

Shakeology Benefits - Prebiotics and Probiotics

Pre and pro biotics are all the buz these days. I have heard time and time again that they are good for you. As I progressed in my new found healthy, clean eating,  lifestyle I was always looking for ways to improve my healthy and my families. Cut to July 2012 and my first month with Shakeology.  A friend of mine had recently started drinking it and told me that Shakeology was the healthiest meal of the day, and I had to learn more about it! There are so many wonderful benefits to Shakeology and through my trying shakeology and doing some research on the various ingredients, I learned a lot about health and nutrition. One of the most vital components of Shakeology is the probiotics!
My number 1 goal when I first started my weight loss journey was WEIGHT LOSS. So I needed to figure out WHY Shakeology helps you loose weight. Well, for me the most appealing reason is that  it reduces cravings, and helps you to feel full.  But why does it help you loose weight?! Pre and Pro biotics play a major part!
Our bodies are full of bacteria! Good and bad bacterias make up our intestinal track. That sounds Gross right!?! When we eat things like carbs, and sugars it feeds the bad bacteria in our body, causing our immune system to suffer. When we have an abundance of bad bacteria in our intestinal track, we crave more and more sugar and carbs in order to feed those bad bacterias. It is a vicious cycle. Not only does sugar make you gain weight and make your blood sugar rise, it also causes you immune system to grow weaker. Now how does pre and pro biotics play into that? The pre and pro biotics help to put the good back into our intestines It helps to balance out your good and bad bacterias. Good bacteria to help aid in digestion and absorption of nutrients. These friendly bacteria are critical to the proper development of your immune system and to protect against disease. Creating a balance in your system is very important and diseases can manifest for those who are out of balance.
Where does Shakeology play into this? Shakeology contains a proprietary nondairy probiotic blend that includes bifodobacterium longum, lactobacillus acidophilis, lactobacillus acidophilusDDS-1, lactobacillus bulgaricus, lactobacillus casei, and streptococcus thermopiles.  
If you are like me, you have no idea what any of that means! Quick, at Home Workouts

I hear ALL of the excuses: It's too cold, the weather is too bad to go to the gym, I'm too busy, too tired, to sore, don't have the equipment, don't have the time… it goes on and on!

So, my gift to all of you is that I'm creating videos of workouts that you can do right from your home AND with minimal to no equipment. I'll give you ideas to be creative and you exactly what you have. If we are lifting weights, find a few heavy books, or a smaller box! 

Here is a clip from my workout this morning. It's a full body workout, using nothing but your body weight! It's the Pushup / Arm Balance. Two exercises in one and will work MULTIPLE muscle groups. 




Remember to tighten your core, which will automatically tighten your booty. Oh, and most important… remember to BREATHE!
